Boronia Apartments recognised at 2026 NSW Apartment Awards for Excellence

City West Housing’s Boronia Apartments has been named joint winner of the affordable housing category at last night’s 2026 NSW Apartment Awards for Excellence, hosted by Australian Apartment Advocacy.

The award recognises Boronia Apartments’ contribution to raising the standard for affordable housing in NSW. Located in Waterloo, the development delivers 74 all-electric homes for people on very low to moderate incomes, with a focus on long-term liveability, resident comfort, quality and stability.

AAA 2026 Awards with trophy

Designed with architects Turner Studio and delivered by builder Growthbuilt, Boronia Apartments was created to challenge expectations of affordable housing, not only through its appearance, but through how the building performs over time. The project combines design quality with operational thinking, helping ensure the homes continue to support residents well into the future.

These principles were upheld passionately by the broader consulting team of Altus, Northrop, JHA, Jensen Hughes, Efficient Living, RPS Group, and Rothshire throughout the design and delivery of Boronia Apartments and this award recognises this values driven collaboration.

City West Housing congratulates all finalists and winners recognised at the sold-out awards event, which celebrated projects and people helping shape better apartment living across NSW.

Boronia Apartments shared the affordable housing category win with Bradbury Senior Housing by Homes NSW, with 6 White Hart Drive by Decode and Link Wentworth Housing Limited receiving a special commendation.
