Allocations Officer

City West Housing (CWH) is an independent not-for-profit community housing provider with a clear mission: to build stronger communities and improve people’s lives by providing affordable housing.

We’re seeking a dedicated Allocations Officer to join our growing team and play a key role in managing the timely and equitable allocation of housing. In this role you’ll support the Allocations & Reporting Manager by maintaining the CWH housing waitlist, coordinating end-to-end property allocations, and ensuring compliance with policy, the Residential Tenancy Act, and Affordable Housing Guidelines.

What you’ll do:

  • Manage eligibility assessments, rent calculations, condition reports, tenancy sign-ups, vacancies, exits and complaints.
  • Work collaboratively across teams to enhance resident experience and service quality.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential resident and property records.

 

About you:
You bring relevant qualifications or equivalent experience (e.g. Certificate IV in Community Services or Real Estate licence), strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing demands in a fast-paced environment. A valid NSW driver’s licence is required.

Head of Legal and Governance 

About the role:

This role will provide expert legal and strategic advice to the CEO, management and the board on property, development, finance, construction and compliance matters, helping to drive strategic decision making while ensuring that risks are proactively identified and managed. It is also responsible for ensuring that there are appropriate compliance structures in place and supporting the Company Secretary in Board-facing processes and interactions.

This is a standalone, hands-on position. The successful applicant will lead the establishment of the in-house legal function, oversee the development and implementation of frameworks, policies and processes to support good governance, and provide end-to-end support on complex matters across property, development, finance, construction, and compliance. 

Key capabilities and requirements:

  • Bachelor of Laws (or equivalent), Unrestricted Practicing Certificate
  • A minimum of 8+ years post-admission experience in a relevant industry (property, construction, social/affordable housing etc)
  • Strong commercial acumen and experience in one or more of the following areas: property, construction, development or finance law including the management of complex transactions
  • Proven track record in providing advice on complex legal and governance issues
  • Demonstrated experience in managing risks, solving problems and exercising sound judgement to balance legal, commercial and organisational priorities
  • Proven ability to engage and manage external legal advisors, including development of scopes of work and oversight of performance
  • Experience leading a small team to achieve excellence
  • Ability to engage and communicate complex legal concepts/matters to non-legal stakeholders
  • Collaborative working style and commitment to integrity.
