COVID-19 (CORONA VIRUS) INFO PAGE

Latest update from CWH

Since our last update about measures we are taking in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, City West Housing (CWH) has implemented a number of additional measures designed to help ensure the safety of our staff and resident communities, including the elderly and other vulnerable groups.

CWH is officially registered as a COVID Safe business. This means we have created a COVID-19 Safety Plan to help protect our staff and office visitors as we get back to business. This plan will ensure that we as a business are meeting our obligations under the COVID Safe rules, specific to our industry and the nature of our work.

On 10th August we moved to our new office but with the following changes that will ensure the safety of staff and residents when we formally re open the office:

  • We have installed a plastic screen at reception
  • We have minimised touch points throughout the office including providing an automatic entry door and automatic hand sanitiser station for visitors
  • We continue to support our staff to work from home. If someone in the office is suspected of or tests positive for COVID-19 we will follow the Safe Work Australia guidelines for dealing with COVID-19 in the workplace

WHATS CHANGING?

·     All property inspections will be postponed until further notice

·     Rent payments can continue to be made over the phone or via your bank or via Centrepay. No payments will be taken in the office.

·     We are currently working with all our contractors to ensure they have implemented safe work practices for any work they may do in our buildings or in individual apartments. At this point it is business as usual, however, this may change rapidly.

·     We have arranged for additional cleaning of common areas across all our buildings. As an extra measure we will pay particular attention to areas with high human contact, such as;

o    Lifts and lift landing

o      Common area door handles and front gates including glass

o   Common area handrails

o    Mopping of hard surfaces including tiles

o   Garbage areas

WHAT DO I DO IF MY INCOME HAS BEEN IMPACTED BY COVID-19?

If any resident experiences a reduction in income (because of loss of work due to corona or any other reason) they need to provide proof of income and complete a rent review form available HERE. Proof of income includes proof of reduction and details of new income such as centrelink payments. The forms can be emailed to enquires@citywesthousing.com.au, posted to our office of put in our mail box at 2/56 Harris St, Pyrmont. Residents should always let us know of any significant increase or decrease in income within 21 days so that the backdate on the new rent charge works in their favour.
