Every day, the staff at City West Housing (CWH) hear uplifting stories of residents looking out for each other and doing projects that bring the community together. 

The Community Impact Awards is an initiative to celebrate CWH residents who are making a significant impact on the people around them. It’s part of our ongoing efforts to ensure all of our residents feel safe and welcomed in their CWH community. It helps us to uncover and shine a spotlight on stories about residents who are making a positive impact in their building and the broader community. And by sharing these great stories, we also think it’s a great way to build community.

The winners were announced at the Annual  Resident Forum on Saturday 5 November. 

The winners of each of the award categories received a $1000 Westfield gift voucher that can be used at any store in Australia.

REVENUE ACCOUNTANT (FULL TIME PERMANENT)

At City West Housing we are proud to house around 1,600 residents across nearly 900 homes in the City of Sydney. We invest in the communities in which we operate, working closely with a range of partners to build stronger communities and improve people’s lives.

We are currently looking for a Revenue Accountant to join our friendly and close-knit finance team.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Revenue Accountant is responsible for:

  • Analysing income & revenue
  • Calculating rent charges
  • Managing monthly and ad-hoc pay cycles
  • Receipting and reconciling revenue
  • Compliance reporting
  • Monitor and report on performance, including process improvement initiatives

 

What we’re looking for

  • Someone with a tertiary qualification in accounting, finance, business or equivalent experience
  • A person with broad experience in accounts receivable and payable in a small or mid-sized environment
  • A high level of computer literacy, including excel, and ideally SAP B1 (but not essential)
  • A great eye for detail
  • Exceptional time management skills and a proven ability to juggle competing priorities and tasks
  • The emotional intelligence to look beyond the numbers and understand the residents who are at the heart of what we do

Head of Assets

City West Housing is an affordable housing provider and developer with heart. We understand how fundamental a home is for people’s health, wellbeing, resilience and opportunity.

City West Housing is one of the pioneers of build to rent. We currently have a portfolio of 900 dwellings, with a growth target of an additional 600 over the short to medium term.

This is a wonderful opportunity for an experienced operations manager / facilities manager / asset manager to take carriage of our portfolio. Duties will include:

  • Ensuring the portfolio is physically fit-for-purpose
  • Ensuring the portfolio is compliant
  • Setting and managing operational budgets
  • Managing the outsourced head contractor for repairs and maintenance
  • Procuring services for the delivery of other operational services i.e. mechanical, electrical, painting, cleaning
  • Driving sustainability initiatives
  • Managing an internal team of four

 

The role forms part of the leadership team and reports directly to the CEO. We offer a flexible working arrangement, with three days per week expected in our Pyrmont office.

Applicants must have demonstrable experience in property portfolio operations and compliance. Time spent managing the physical performance of residential apartments would be highly regarded.
