City West Housing are pleased to announce the endorsement of our Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan by Reconciliation Australia.
City West Housing CEO, Leonie King is thrilled to be launching the organisation’s first Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan.
“I’m pleased to announce the endorsement of our Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan which sets out our commitment to better understand the people we serve and how to be genuinely inclusive in our interactions with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and their communities,” said Leonie.
“We recognise that we are at the very start of our reconciliation journey. We know that reconciliation is an ever-expanding journey that requires empathy, listening, commitment, constant renewal, and prioritisation. We want reconciliation to be in the hearts, minds and actions of all of us at City West Housing – no matter what our background or our role.
“I look forward to seeing City West Housing invest in building stronger connections with and proactively support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and their communities.”
City West Housing’s Board of Directors Chair, Diana D’ambra shares her support and vision for City West Housing’s Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan.
“City West Housing has a long history of involvement and engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples who make up 12 per cent of our resident community,” said Diana.
“This Reconciliation Action Plan recognises the need to be proactive in our relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and their communities. It will ensure that our vision for reconciliation is reflected in our culture, our governance processes, our decisions and actions taken by our staff.
“We hope it catalyses new insights, better understanding of and more opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, those who live in the communities in which we operate.”
