Two City West Housing senior managers were recognised last night at the national PowerHousing Australia industry awards in Canberra.
Head of Assets Ryan Rosenbaum accepted the runner’s up award in the Business Partner Award category for delivering CWH’s sector-leading rooftop solar project in partnership with Allume Energy and other partners. It was the first time that solar electricity had been introduced at scale into individual social and affordable rental apartments in Australia.
The rooftop solar project saw CWH install 769 panels across 3 buildings, with separate feeds and tariffs for individual residents, at a projected cost saving of $400 per year per household and the equivalent of taking 103.5 cars off the road in greenhouse gas emission savings.
Head of Development Lisa Sorrentino was highly commended in the Outstanding Achievement Award & Scholarship category. Lisa has been a trailblazer in the development of affordable rental apartments in inner Sydney and in creating sustainable design principles to the benefit of residents and CWH.
In the four and a half years since Lisa joined CWH, her commercial acumen and experience have completely transformed our development approach, laying the foundations for the significant, award-winning development pipeline over which she now presides, including Boronia, Tallowwood, Acacia, Banksia, Melaleuca and Bangalay Apartments.
