The Lord Mayor of Sydney, Clover Moore and CEO of City West Housing, Leonie King today (Tuesday 15 May) turned the sod on the housing provider’s new Ross Street development.
Together with local elders and existing tenants who live locally in City West Housing affordable rental homes, Councillor Moore and Leonie King officially marked the start of construction for the development which will create 75 affordable homes in Harold Park, Forest Lodge.
CEO of City West Housing, Leonie King welcomed the commencement of the project, “We’re proud to be providing this mix of one, two and three bedroom apartments to people on low to moderate incomes looking for a place to call home in the City of Sydney.
“With strong transport links and both Glebe and Annandale town centres within a 10 minute walk, this central development gives more people who need affordable secure rental housing the chance to live and work locally in the City of Sydney and not spend hours a day commuting.”
“We are dedicated to building communities. In addition to helping create a greener city, the rooftop garden and gym facilities being built as part of this development will give residents the opportunity for social interaction and contribute to their greater health and well being.”
