City West Housing has broken ground at Acacia Apartments, with 264 brand-new affordable rental apartments coming to the heart of Green Square. This landmark development marks a major step forward in addressing Sydney’s critical housing need.
Chief Executive Officer Leonie King said the project demonstrates the value of strong partnerships in delivering affordable housing.
“With more than 1,900 eligible households currently on City West Housing’s waiting list in the City of Sydney, Acacia Apartments will help to provide safe, secure affordable homes for lower income households in the heart of one of the country’s most expensive cities,” she said.

City West Housing has also recently been granted development consent on Melaleuca Apartments in Bankstown and Bangalay Apartments in Alexandria. Upon completion, the three projects combined will add just over 500 brand-new affordable rental apartments for the families and communities that need them.
