Melaleuca Apartments

Melaleuca Apartments

Named after the Melaleuca Stypheliodies (prickly-leaved paperbark) native to the area, Melaleuca Apartments is City West Housing’s first site in the Canterbury Bankstown LGA. The site is within an easy walk of the Bankstown City Centre and train station, which is undergoing a Metro conversion.

The site is located in the Bankstown Transport Oriented Development (TOD) precinct which was subject to a rezoning process by the Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure in November 2024. Bankstown is seeking to transform from a commercial and retail focused centre into a regionally significant employment, health and education precinct.

The proposed redevelopment of the site is estimated to provide 126 apartments, all for use as affordable rental housing.
