Check your eligibility - City of Sydney LGA

Although we strongly believe that everyone deserves access to affordable housing, City West Housing applicants are required to meet the eligibility criteria relevant to the Local Government Area (LGA) they want to be housed in. For example, applicants interested in our City of Sydney properties must prove they have a current connection (either living or working) to the City of Sydney LGA.

To apply for a City West Housing property in the City of Sydney LGA, applicants will need to complete the City of Sydney Eligibility Questionnaire, which can be accessed towards the bottom of this page. If you are deemed eligible, based on your self-assessment, you will be prompted to create an account with our portal.

Once you’ve registered, you will need to sign into your portal account and complete an Expression of Interest application in order to be added to the waitlist. Please be sure to provide information about yourself and anyone else you intend to include in your household. This information is used to determine the size and type of home that will best suit your needs.

If something changes with your situation, you can submit a Change in Circumstances application form via your portal account.

As you move towards the top of the waitlist, someone from the Allocations Team will be in touch to invite you to complete a Formal Application and advise of next steps. Up until this point, you do not need to provide any evidence to support your application.
