Creative Industries Day 2021

Being an affordable housing provider, we’ve seen first-hand the extreme impact COVID-19 has had on our residents who work in the creative industry. After a challenging year, we want to re-engage and celebrate creative practices and careers and provide essential information and opportunities to support our residents that work or would like to work in this area.

We are currently seeking Expressions of Interest from potential collaborators for the inaugural Creative Industries Day:

Joynton Avenue Creative Centre, Green Square
Saturday, 18 September 2021

This event has been developed by key partners of the Green Square Network Group: TAFE NSW, 107 Projects and City West Housing.

This convergence of community, industry professionals and employers will provide an inspiring and informative day. With
2021 the International Year of the Creative Economy for Sustainable Development, this event will help highlight the value of creative industries, celebrate local creative practitioners, identify areas for opportunity and innovation and connect people to pathways to creative industries..

Collaborators can be involved in a number of different ways. We are looking for:

  • People interested in presenting exhibits, video content, installations, short workshops, expo/information stalls, job boards, innovative career opportunities and pathways and success stories.
  • People interested in providing event support including curation, event set-up and support, AV support and streaming services.
  • Industry engagement: employers, associations and club support, artists’ collectives and other collaborative groups, and networking opportunities.

Our aims? We want:

  • To spotlight the future jobs market
  • To present employability and career pathways in the industry
  • To increase community and industry engagement
  • To drive enrolments at TAFE NSW and other education providers
  • To increase collaboration between creative individuals and businesses
  • To provide paid opportunities for individuals.

Who is the day for? Come one, come all. We are especially targeting:

  • Job seekers and those looking at alternative career pathways
  • Students and graduates of Creative Ideation Courses
  • People working in creative industries seeking collaborative partnerships
  • Community members and consumers who support and are passionate about the creative industries
  • Local businesses that can provide professional advice and employment opportunities
  • Professionals in the industry who can offer insights into the future jobs market
  • Education providers
