A strong partnership between City West Housing and long-term collaborator Valiant is helping transform apartments into homes, and lives in the process.
We continue to work with like-minded organisations to deliver quality affordable housing and build supportive communities. This commitment was recently strengthened through our partnership with Valiant, which generously donated high-quality former display furniture for a few new residents at Boronia Apartments.
A Certified B Corporation and 100% carbon-neutral business, Valiant is driven by sustainability and social impact. Its decision to support City West Housing reflects a shared goal: to improve lives through responsible, community-focused initiatives. Originally used to style display apartments, the furniture has now been repurposed across a few homes, creating welcoming, furnished spaces for residents.

For Carrie Ann, a resident at Boronia Apartments, this partnership has been life changing. Like many older single women, she was priced out of Sydney’s private rental market after a significant rent increase. Without a stable housing option, she relied on staying with family and friends, an experience she described as deeply challenging.
Just before her birthday late last year, City West Housing offered Carrie Ann a one-bedroom apartment. Walking into a beautifully furnished home made an immediate impact. She described the experience as overwhelming in the best way, bringing a sense of comfort and care at a pivotal moment in her life.

Now working as a birth and end-of-life doula, Carrie Ann says the stability of affordable housing has restored her independence and peace of mind. Even if her income fluctuates, she knows City West Housing will work with her to maintain her tenancy.
