City West Housing is delighted to launch our first Impact Report, measuring our environmental, social and governance (ESG) impact as a developer and manager of affordable housing.
Linked to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and informed by best practice ESG frameworks, including CHIA’s new reporting standard, our report highlights what a sound, impactful investment affordable housing is in one of the world’s most challenging housing markets.
We’re helping to protect the planet, improving residents’ lives, supporting our staff and running a resilient business that can build even more affordable rental apartments for people in need.
City West Housing CEO Leonie King said, “Doing the right thing by our customers and creating opportunities for more affordable housing for people in need also means doing the right thing by the planet. Well-designed, environmentally sustainable apartments contribute to residents’ health, wellbeing and life opportunities.”
City West Housing Chair Diana D’Ambra said, “For our current and potential business, philanthropic or government partners and investors, ESG reporting is increasingly regarded as integral to sound impact and investment decision-making. I am delighted to commend this, our first report on our ESG journey.”
Our Impact 2022 has been launched at a time when rental housing has never been less affordable or in shorter supply for people on moderate to low incomes in City West Housing’s inner Sydney operating area.
