The Housing Australia Future Fund (HAFF) is building a strong foundation for the delivery of more social and affordable housing. The HAFFF, a Federal Government funding initiative administered by Housing Australia, will support the delivery of 20,000 new social homes and 10,000 new affordable homes across Australia over a 5-year period.
City West Housing, a specialist in affordable residential apartments, is proud to be delivering more housing to help meet the demand with three development projects, at an estimated cost of $460m, awarded funding by Housing Australia under HAFF Round 1 (pending contract close). These projects will deliver more than 450 affordable homes for very low, low and moderate income households, located in Alexandria, Bankstown and Waterloo.
All three developments are within walking and cycling distance to a range of community facilities, shops and public transport.
City West Housing CEO Leonie King said: “By innovating and collaborating with funding partners, City West Housing can develop at scale to address the demand for safe, secure and affordable rental housing in Sydney. Consistent funding is key to allow community housing providers such as City West Housing to plan for and deliver more homes.
These affordable apartments will go part way towards addressing the ever-growing need for well-located quality affordable housing in Sydney close to services. Like the rest of our portfolio, these apartments will enable residents to live and work locally.”
